From this month, Oropesa has become the first safe tourist destination in the province
The Oropesa del Mar Town Hall has committed to protecting our health and reactivating the municipality's economy. Thanks to this, they have succeeded in making us the first municipality in the province of Castellón to guarantee safe and prepared beaches for when the lockdown ends. The Comprehensive Tourism Reactivation Plan will modify the beach access regulations, establishing a strict protocol for cleaning and social distancing. For this, it will have an investment of more than one million euros.
In this way, after several meetings by the monitoring committee, the possible measures to be taken have been taken into account. The local governing team «It has opted for various initiatives aimed at making Oropesa one of the safest tourist destinations for holidays and enjoying the beaches, which are our greatest asset.«, the mayor has assured us, María Jiménez.
It has also confirmed to us that Oropesa's beaches will have «access controls that will allow for adequate distancing and security«In addition, the part closest to the coast, which is usually used for bathing by people, will be marked out so that social distancing rules can be complied with and people can feel at ease.
Jiménez highlighted that they are «conscious of the importance of working in advance for the new scenario taking shape on our locality's beaches, so that their use is carried out under adequate safety and social distancing conditions”This is why “Thanks to the measures we have implemented, Oropesa has become the first tourist municipality in the province of Castellón to make decisions that guarantee its beaches are safe.«.
So that both residents and tourists are aware of the new regulations, informative signs will be placed on all beaches. There will also be increased staff presence to monitor and assist our visitors. Furthermore, as might be expected, disinfection teams will play a key role and will operate in sensitive areas of the beaches several times a day.
But all this effort will not be worth it if we don't all cooperate in this process of looking after our beautiful town and its beaches. Only with your support, will we continue to be a benchmark for safety and good practice.
