What do we need to know before installing an alarm in our home?<\/strong><\/p>

These are simple steps but convenient for anyone who wants to install an alarm and doesn't know where to put the sensors. Therefore, the first thing to do is to carefully inspect the house and determine which doors and windows are most accessible.<\/p>

Another place to consider is the location of the alarm control panel: it could be in a visible place and near the access door, or it could be hidden from view. This part is very important, especially if add-ons such as special sensors, IP cameras, etc., are included, depending on your installation requirements (wired or wireless).<\/p>

Never forget your lifestyle or that of your loved ones; you'll need to be well aware of your daily habits and browse the wide range of products. This will prevent you from wasting resources or having to rectify the installation as insufficient or impractical.<\/p>

Highly recommended, in addition to an alarm, is to have a module that functions as a siren \u2013 one of the most commonly used and effective deterrents in the world of security.\u00a0<\/p>

As you can see, these are very simple things, but tremendously useful when installing a home alarm.<\/p>

What should I consider when choosing an electronic security system? <\/strong><\/p>

Here are 5 important recommendations:<\/p>

1.-\u00a0Operational in case of power failure<\/strong>Our Security System must continue to operate in the event of a power failure (intentional or accidental). The most common way is for our alarm to incorporate internal backup batteries or cells that ensure the equipment functions, at least for a few hours. It is equally important that our system notifies us of both the failure and the restoration of power. Furthermore, our sensors, sirens, etc., must continue to operate in the event of a power loss so that the system remains operational in this type of situation.<\/p>

We must ensure that the communication system our alarm uses to communicate externally also remains operational in the event of a power failure. If communication is via GSM radio, there is no problem, but if it is via a WiFi router, it is highly recommended to have a small\u00a0SAI\/UPS<\/a>\u00a0which keeps the electrical supply to both the alarm and the router to maintain communication.\u00a0<\/p>

2.-\u00a0External communication with backup (DUAL)<\/strong>Our alarm should have, at a minimum, an alternative or backup external communication system to the main one. This means having at least two communication channels for alerts, as there should always be a complementary communication channel if the main one fails. You will find different combinations on the market: WiFi, LAN, landline, GSM, GPRS, 3G, etc. We recommend combining a wired communication channel with a wireless\/radio one.<\/p>

3.-\u00a0Anti-inhibition protection<\/strong>Communication between sensors and the control panel, and\/or the control panel and external networks, can be disabled or blocked using devices called JAMMING DEVICES. In practice, depending on the jammer used, they can completely disable our System. Therefore, when choosing an alarm system, remember to ensure it has isolated jammer detectors.<\/p>

4.-\u00a0Ampliable\/Escalable\/Actualizable<\/strong>If we purchase equipment that meets the characteristics detailed in this post, it won't be the cheapest equipment on the market, which is logical. However, we must ensure that the investment made is profitable in the medium and long term. Furthermore, it should allow us to stagger the necessary expenditure in phases, if we so wish.
