One of the most important devices in our home, a good security system and a good door with a Quality lock that protects both.
We must give locks the value they deserve, as they are responsible for protecting us and preventing thieves from gaining access. For this reason, we are going to show you the different Types of locks what we currently find and the advantages and disadvantages of each of them.
- Cylindrical locks or Euro profile locks. It is the most common in our homes. The central piece of the mechanism is composed of a pear-shaped cylinder, and the key is inserted into it.
- Surface-mounted locks. The protection they offer depends on the material they are made from. They are mechanisms found exposed on one side of the door, which is why they can be easily forced from the visible side.
- Mortise or mortise locks. The small locks we find on bathroom doors that work by turning them, the good old-fashioned latches.
- Tubular locks. Very similar to the mortise or flush lock, but with one exception: this one is operated by a button that locks the door from the inside, which is also very convenient for toilets.
- Multipoint Locks. These are the safest to date. Their mechanism involves anchors attached to the door in different places, which, together with the obstruction thanks to their design and layout, by means of levers, make them more difficult to force. They are commonly used for armoured doors.
- Electronic locks. In this group, we find a wide spectrum. Digital locks, which we only recently considered futuristic, are making their way. Among these, we find everything from hotel room access cards and retina scanners to locks and unlocks via fingerprint recognition, as seen on mobile phones. The only drawback is their easy access, as their security can be breached with high-quality software.
From ACV Group, We recommend that, whichever one you choose, it should always be of a high quality in order to save you from any surprises, and that you should always have for greater comfort a copy of the key. We'll offer to do it for you! 😉
